NY Fashion Week - Spring '08 Daily Roundup

I live in Miami not New York. And unfortunately that means I'm not one of lucky ones to attend the glamorous Fashion Week in New York City. I must resign to live vicariously through the reporters, bloggers and photographers who try to capture the scene and fashions with words and snapshots. So all week I will attempt to weed through all the hoopla and give you a daily summary of some of my favorites.

"...Grey Ant presented a collection that was stylish and far from basic. Playing on his success with high-waists, designer Grant Krajecki took his collection in a new direction combining pattern dyed linens and pairing them with structured waists."

"...Scarlet dyed linen and plum tops brought this collection together, suggesting the designers took cues for the Fall collections of designers such as Zac Posen.Black, shark-skin leggings completed looks, but the addition may have been unwelcomed as more women leave the restriction of leggings opting for more full length skirts."

"...Coquette's got special access this season, giving you coverage several times a day of key shows from the tents, as well shows from indie designers around Manhattan. Look for a hands-on report on the fashion party circuit from our NY Fashion Editor Leigh Ferreira who will be guest blogging here on Coquette."

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Some of our favorite designers this season are Fashion Week fledglings.

That's all I have for now...check back soon for more on Fashion Week's hot designers!
