Etsy Dress Mondays

Monday is not usually my favorite day of the week. I would dare to say that I am not alone in this belief. I feel like I have to drag myself out of bed and into the shower. I am so slow, in fact, that I have just enough time to throw on 'whatever' and it's probably the exact thing I wore the previous Monday. In order to break this habit, I think I need to be able to pull something chic yet comfortable out of my closet.
Here are some finds that would do the trick to break my Monday blues.

Next to who will win Best Actor/Actress, is the question 'what are you wearing'. I for one like to look at all the beautiful stars and find out which designer they decided to wear. I have a few favorites this year (SJP and Frieda Pinto) but my no. 1 vote goes to Penelope Cruz. She not only won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona but also won best dressed (in my book) for this stunning Pierre Balmain vintage gown.

Spring Preview: Yellow

I realize it's February but to me Spring is just around the corner. I'm counting the days to warmer temperatures, pretty flowers...and you guessed it, Spring fashions! Lately, I've been obsessed with the color yellow. What better color to represent Spring, right?

And finally, here's my contribution to the list. I was so inspired by yellow that I just had to make something. So I looked in my supplies (didn't have too look too hard) and found these lemon quartz briolettes. I paired them with sterling silver to make them more casual - wear them day, night, or basically anytime.

Most of you know that I recently moved back to Charlotte, NC from Miami, Fl. After living in sunny and hot South Florida for three years, I took it all for granted.

I'm sorry, MIA. I didn't realize it then but I see you for all your beauty now. It's always too late isn't it? But here's what I love about you: 1) diverse cultures, 2) water sports, 3) beaches, and last but definitely not least 4) fun, fun, fun! Why am I bringing this up now, after living in a new city? Well, today as I was browsing through one of my favorite shops on Etsy, I was suddenly reminded of you, Miami.

This dress is Miami to me - stylish, light, and fun. Miami will affect you and leave a lasting mark - even if you only stay for a weekend. I dare you to test my theory.

Yea! Tonight I'm going to GenArt's Shop Miami event for the 2nd time this year and as you can tell from my intro I'm very excited. The last one wasn't that long ago - this past Spring - but since it was the first one ever that I attended, I don't think I really got the feel for it until it was all over. Now, I'm ready. I know which designers and boutiques will be selling and displaying their awesome and "I must have this" creations. PlusI'm extra excited because my Art Jewelry teacher, Ruth Avra, will be showcasing her designs as well. But I really don't need special reasons to go to Shop Miami, it's wonderful all on it's own.
